Downloaded the msi installer from your website tonight and attempted an install to a VS2005 standard edition environment running under Vista. I selected only the option to install 2005 (not the earlier and later versions) and declined AJAX. The installation proceeded, added two shortcut icons on the desktop concerning help and getting started with ASPFlash.

It then popped up with a dialog about installing the the control to the VS2008 toolbox. I thought that odd but in a moment of stupidity, clicked OK. Installation proceeded for a short time, then errored out stating that the requested language was not supported (never was asked anything about language prior to this), and then the installation rolled back.

On starting VS2005, got the "wait a little bit while we setup your environment for the first time" dialog, then was presented with an empty toolbox. No controls to be found anywhere.

Perusing the forums, I noticed this had happened before for ASPAudio but could not find a similar report for ASPFlash.

Needless to say, I'm one very unhappy camper.

Any idea how to get my environment back without fully re-installing VS?

Thanks for any and all help.

Ahhhhh.

The resetting of the VS environment took me out of designer mode. That makes the toolbox appear empty and you can't add or modify it.

Had been in designer mode for so long (why would you not be in designer mode?) that I didn't think of that. Thank you Google.

The dll installs just fine manually. Sorry.

OK thanks for Re-posting that all is ok.

Many people dont - and we spend days following up non-issues.

It seems our #1 occupational hazard is taking teh blame for other people's frustration with ASP.Net and Visual Studio. Its just not a languages that's easy to pick up without professional training.
